FREQUENTLY ASKED

Questions.

The honest answers. If yours is not here, the Almanac reply address always reaches a human.

What is a forgotten food?+

A forgotten food is an ingredient the world used and trusted for a very long time, then filed away for reasons that had nothing to do with how good it was. Usually it was too sour, too strange, or too hard to brand for a modern grocery store. We go back for those. Every one of our heroes has thousands of years of history and almost no shelf presence.

Where can I buy your products?+

Every product page has a SHOP button that takes you to our external shop. There is no checkout on this marketing site yet. If a product is not linked to a live shop page, it means we are still setting up fulfillment, and the fastest way to hear when it is ready is the Almanac.

Why are the jars numbered?+

The batch numbers are craft transparency. A batch card tells you how something was made and how long it took, the way a good label tells you where a thing came from. It is a record of how we work. When something is a small first run, we will say so plainly and open a waitlist, rather than bury a fake countdown on the page.

How does shipping work?+

Shipping details live on each product page, since a cold-pressed shot and a shelf-stable lollipop travel very differently. In general we ship within the continental US in recyclable packaging, and anything perishable goes cold. Exact rates and timing are being finalized as fulfillment comes online.

Do you offer subscriptions?+

Not yet. When subscriptions exist they will show up on the product pages and in the shop. For now the only thing you can subscribe to is the Almanac, our free weekly dispatch, which is also the best way to hear when anything new opens up.

Where do you source your ingredients?+

We source each hero as close to its traditional origin as we responsibly can, and we work to keep the supply chain short and honest. As sourcing partners are confirmed we will publish the specifics in the archive, because a food about remembering should be able to tell you exactly where it came from.

Are your health claims verified?+

We are deliberately careful with claims. We say naturally rich in and traditionally used for, and we mean precisely that. These statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration, and our products are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. We would rather under-promise and be trusted.

Do you sell wholesale?+

We are open to the right wholesale and stockist partners, especially shops that care about the story as much as the shelf. The Almanac is the best channel to reach us for now, and a proper wholesale page is on the list as we grow.
